Get to know me
Hello. My name is Inyoni N’kosi. I earned my bachelor’s in music from Florida State University. with a minor in Japanese and a focus on Music in Special Education. During my time at FSU, I studied the different pedagogies used for brass, woodwinds, double reeds, voice, and percussion. In addition, I also performed in several World Music Ensembles, absorbing what I could about the other cultures through their musical practices.
During my undergraduate studies, I had the distinct privilege of working with a group of Special Needs adults, in a choir setting. Such an amazing experience not only gave me a deeper perspective on how music shapes lives, but also a more rounded understanding of the different ways and reasons it can be shared.
While the bulk of my one on one teaching has been for music lessons, I’ve also tutored in English Language Arts, Spanish, Japanese, and Math. From teaching the newest learners how to write the alphabet, to speaking at a convention about story telling through character development, writing has become a secondary passion of mine, and I have two published works.
Performing as Lydian Lovelace, I’ve been entertaining crowds for 10 years at the renaissance festivals in both Georgia and North Carolina. I pride myself on being a guerilla troubadour; a musician who finds mundane moments and turns them into magical memories.
